Scott Mickelson is een artiest/producer uit San Francisco.
Zijn debuutalbum Flickering stond op de Grammy-stemming voor Best Folk Album en Best Roots Music Performance.
Zijn opvolger A Wondrous Life kreeg goede recensies in de VS en in het buitenland, wat leidde tot zijn eerste Europese tournee in 2019.
Als producer werkte hij onder andere aan de veelgeprezen benefietcompilatie ‘Blanket The Homeless’ met Grammy-winnaar Fantastic Negrito.
In 2020 bracht Mickelson Drowning In An Inflatable Pool uit.
Mickelson werd gedwongen zijn tournees te annuleren vanwege Covid, maar de plaat kreeg nog steeds lovende kritieken in de VS en Europa.
De eerste single, “Jagged Tooth”, ging gepaard met een fantastische animatievideo.
Afgelopen november bracht hij “UNarmed American” uit, de eerste video/single van de aanstaande full-length Known To Be Unknown.
Het ging in première op Americana UK en leidde tot zijn uitnodiging voor The Mavericks Festival in het VK.

Scott Mickelson is an artist/producer from San Francisco. His debut release Flickering was on the Grammy ballot for Best Folk Album and Best Roots Music Performance.His follow up full-length A Wondrous Life received great reviews in the US and abroad which led to his first European tour in 2019. He then produced the critically acclaimed Blanket The Homeless benefit compilation which included Grammy winner Fantastic Negrito. In 2020, Mickelson released Drowning In An Inflatable Pool to rave reviews in the U.S. and Europe. On November 19, 2022 the first new single/video “UNarmed American” premiered on Americana U.K. The highly acclaimed full-length Known To Be Unknown was released in April, 2022. Mickelson has since been invited to perform at festivals both in Europe and the U.K. He now collaborates and tours with musicians Jon Buckett (keys) and Lee Moulding (drums) both from Swindon, England. The band will tour the U.K. again in February, 2023 including dates in Scotland and Wales. This will be followed by another European tour in the Fall.
Their new single “Only Grey Matter Boiling In My Head” will be released in November, 2023 in support of their February U.K. tour. This is the first track recorded with his British bandmates.
Mickelson has appeared in BBC, NPR Radio, Huffington Post, CBS Morning Show, No Depression, Glide Magazine, Paste Magazine, PopMatters, TheBayBridged, Alternative Press Magazine, San Francisco Chronicle, Mix Magazine, Heaven Magazine (NL), Heaven Magazine (DE), etc. He also gained national recognition after winning a band search contest sponsored by MTV/7-Up with a prize of $15,000 and a song in the feature film Along The Way. He has shared the stage with artists including: Nick Lowe, Dick Dale, Dave Van Ronk, David Bromberg, Peter Case, Vandoliers, Jonathon Richmond, Steve Forbet, Smashmouth, etc.
